I <HEART> POLYVORE!!!

I have a new fetish.
I have a new hobby.
I have a new love.
I have a new friend.
I have a new interest.
I have a new addiction.

This fetish, hobby, love, friend, interest, addiction is...

I recently started loving clothes, shoes and all* things fashion. I can't exactly remember when it was when this love was formed, but all i know is that this has become quite a relationship.
I joined Polyvore in April. I remember feeling a little low about my wardrobe. Then, along came Polyvore. It was right after my birthday, and right after creating my very first set, i felt so happy and proud of myself. It made me feel a whole lot better. I created a set that i wished i could've worn on my birthday - a very casual, sexy, chilled summertime/ braai outfit.

Here is my first set (as seen on Flavour of the Day #6):

Polyvore is like my fantasy closet, with endless possibilities of clothing items and outfits that one could choose from created by oneself and other members. Everyone has their own style.
I'm also not a fashion student or designer, so i just do this for my own amusement and pleasure.
It's fun and satisfying.
If ever i'm not feeling very sexy or appealing, i go through Polyvore items and find myself picturing me in 100s of the outfits there.  Polyvore is also used for interior design, fashion and beauty tips and inspiration.

My stats thus far:
  • 42 sets created
  • 1,643 set views
  • 47 set likes

I'm still such a newbie so i still get so excited and do a happy dance when i receive a set like or gain a new follower, also, when the number of my set views spike up *does happy dance again*.
I can't wait to have 2000 set views. And i predict that that will happen by Monday :-)

I'll stop doing a happy dance the day that i have millions of set views (like some people on Polyvore) and the day that I have 500 followers, millions of set likes and a million sets created - i guess i'll never stop doing my little happy dance. I can't help but get excited.

You can have a look at my profile and sets by following this link http://shisaling.polyvore.com/.
My username is: shisaling

Now i can't wait for Polyvore to be available on Android *hint hint*.

Flavour Of The Day #9

FLYING PEOPLE IN NEW YORK CITY

Since the three main characters of the movie have the ability to fly, we came up with the idea of staging a few “flying people” sightings around NYC. We achieved that illusion by having 3 custom-made aircraft (which were shaped like human beings) fly above designated areas in NYC and NJ.” - Michael Krivicka (from Thinkmodo)
I can't believe that this has been in my Drafts folder for months now. Bad, bad, bad!
Anywho, even tho this is old news, i still think this was an awesome build up nonetheless.

For their new movie CHRONICLE, 20th Century Fox worked together with marketing agency Thinkmodo, in coming up with a unique campaign for awareness of the then upcoming movie over the New York City skyline - Flying People In New York City.
Some were fortunate enough to witness these flying "human beings" in the sky over parts of New York City and New Jersey. If someone told you they saw these humans, do not be alarmed - THEY ARE NOT CRAZY!

If you witnessed this, i envy you, as you were a part of and witnesses a unique experience, which i thought was really brilliant. But of course, it was MORE brilliant in the eyes of those who were aware of and had an idea about the movie, Chronicle.
If you had no knowledge of the movie, i sure hope that the experience made you very curious and urged you to do a little digging and go watch it.

If you found it useless and pathetic then "blrlrlrlrlr" *sticking my tongue out*

“Sex, Marriage & Fairytales” || Spoken Word

Just another brilliant piece by Jefferson Bethke that I've been meaning to share.
Read.
Be attentive.
Close your eyes.
Listen.
Feel it.
Enjoy it.
Live it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I realized Disney movies and chick flicks, they’ve put us in a weird position,
They’ve distorted our reality, we forget they are fiction,
Because in marriage we either get better or bitter, either joy or remorses,
Whatever were doing ain’t working, just look at the rate of divorces
So, how’s your marriage? I mean c’mon let’s just be honest,
Marriage seems to some more like a prison, than the paradise they were promised
We thought marriage was supposed to fulfill us and make us happy, not lonely
But the truth is His first priority is making you holy.

You say “no one told me,” and it feels so odd
That dating felt like a vacation, while marriage feels like a job,
Yet the secret of joy, if we just pull back our facade,
Is realizing most problems arise when we elevate our spouse to God
Without knowing it we’ve fulfilled romans 1:25
By our actions exchanged the truth about God for a lie,
We’ve exchanged God for lesser, created things,
It’s like a husband trading his wife for a 2d image on a screen,
Hoping it’ll set us free, just to find on the fumes were choking,
Cuz if your marriage rests on anything but Jesus, it’s resting on something broken.
Yet guys continually sacrifice their marriage on the altar of sex and lust,
I mean if our dollars were honest they’d say in “pleasure we trust”
So men grow up, put down the controller,
How about you lead her with grace, instead of trying to control her

Now I’ve never been married but I’m a product of one that was non-existent,
So don’t tell me I don’t understand, don’t tell me I just don’t get it
So for the singles, become friends first, before you become lovers,
Pursue Christ as your foundation, before you get under the covers,
Because believe me a strong friendship before marriage, will make a good marriage after,
friendship isn’t just sex, its deep conversation and laughter.
I mean some spouses barely even like each other, and the marriage seems like a dead end.
You might share a checkbook and a bed, but are you actually friends?
I mean if marriage isn’t a commitment, then what’s the point of the vows we say?
Til death do us apart, really means until the feelings goes away.
Like, “ill stay with him but only until it gets tough and my love shifts”,
But I say imagine if a parent took that perspective with her kids,
Like can’t you see it, the minute the kid spills food on the floor,
The mom saying “son I’m leaving, I’m just not in love with you anymore.”
No its just like marriage, to last you need the strength from above,
Because it’s not the love that sustains the promise, it’s the promise that sustains the
love.

I mean think about it, out of anyone who has had the right to leave?
God had every reason in the world, yet he still came for you and me,
And on the cross he paid it all he took our shame and set us free,
When he could’ve called down legions of angels, he chose to stay on that tree.
From the cross he looks you in the eye, and says I’m taking this for my bride,
When you trust in me, you no longer have to hide!
Because of me it is finished, you have been made new!
Spotless, blameless there’s no sin in you!

His death was a proposal, he wanted you no matter the cost,
Where some guys propose on a knee, Jesus proposed on a cross.
So whether husband or wife, read Ephesians 5,
Wife honor your husband, husbands give up your life,
Just like Jesus gave himself, for his bride the church,
So men lead by serving, by putting her first
Lastly both spouses die to self, put your flesh on a life sentence,
Because you don’t fall out of love as much as you fall out of repentance.

Flavour Of The Day #7

Sexual Healing

Found this video this morning and from the very 1st line, i fell in love with Jefferson's words. They captured my mind and grabbed me and my mind hasn't let go.
Please watch, and/ or read the poem below:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

So lets look as this subject, and ill tell you why im disgusted,
So tonight looks like sex will be the topic of discussion.
Now sex isn’t evil, for marriage is why God made it,
But I know you like come on Jeff, that’s too outdated.
This is 2011 bro, we do it for recreation,
Hey this is even college, so we do it while you’re wasted.
lets look into that logic lets pop off the seal,
And lets question something we thought is already a done deal,
For example take a rape victim and once its revealed
When her bruises go away is she totally healed?
I mean the damage is lasting, you can see it in her eyes,
If it was just abused recreation, why did it ruin her life?
I mean if sex is just for fun then why on us does it take such a toll,
Maybe its because You don’t have sex with a body, you have sex with a soul.

That means for me there aint no premarital lovin,
And it aint just because I don’t want a baby in the oven,
Its because I’m staying pure until the day that I’m a husband.
but see this wasn’t always me that’s guarantee,
so lets go back and see who I used to be.
Growing up, I never learned how to treat a lady
If I learned anything from my dad, it was leave the mom, ditch the baby.
I don’t say that to get sympathy, I say that to be real,
Because according to stats, about 40% of you know how that feels.
So I let the tv show me, what the music already told me,
No dad at home, so I let mtv mold me.
And they sold me, so my life revolved around what girl I could get next,
My whole life revolved around this girl name sex.
Shoot I gotta confess Id get at her on text,
But it seems the longer we dated, the bigger the mess
But see ive been there, where my girlfriend was late on that time of the month,
If you’ve been there too, you know what I mean when I say my heart sunk.
I started to justify abortion, I would butter it up
But they don’t have condoms for sin, you cant just cover it up.
I didn’t have a baby, thankfully
Its funny how I was pro-life, until it happened to me.
So dudes think twice before you desire her just cuz she’s hot,
Because your body makes a promise whether you do or not.

Sorry I digress, lets get back to the topic,
How there are guys in here who pressure her even when she says stop it.
Youre not a man, youre just a boy who can shave and you put on a good cover,
Cuz if you don’t respect her when she says no, you certainly don’t love her.
So start studying her heart, and stop studying her booty,
Or maybe invest the same amount of time in her, that you do in call of duty
I mean whats make you think you have the right to get a girl and get naughty?
you should have to touch her heart and her mind first before you ever touch her body
Because she longs to be accepted, she longs to be loved,
So she gives herself up to another guys lust,
it feels good at first, and then she gets bitter,
Cuz the promises of satisfaction it never delivers,
See shes like man I don’t want to, its just too tempting,
So she keeps opening up the present, just to find its empty.
And then she starts to get confused,
Because she keeps getting rejected by all these dudes,
They tell her on scale of 10 shes a two,
But that aint true, if she only knew,
That Jesus, he loves and accepts us,
Even when we don’t deserve it, he never rejects us,
He heals us from that sin totally infects us,
He does what condoms cant, he emotionally protect us.
I know some of you like “this guys wack” and you gunna wanna indict me,
But we gotta think rightly, so ill ask politely,
can we really say this isn’t true even slightly?
Touch the forbidden fruit, just to realize its poison ivy
Now we’re numb and we’re itching, and jacked up our psyche
You don’t think you just do it, like your name was nike
Not realizing the consequences of sin, is oh so pricey

So this last story is for those who think they’re too dirty
This last story, its for those who think they’re unworthy.
Read John chapter 8, the woman caught in adultery,
Religious leaders throw her naked in the temple, while she yells “Don’t murder me”
“Jesus! The law commands us to stone this woman!” you hear the hate in their tone,
Jesus pauses and then says, “whoever is without sin, you can cast the first stone”
Can you imagine the sound? Silence all around,
You hear footsteps walk away, you hear stones hit the ground.
Jesus kneels down, the woman thought it was her demise,
He lifts up her face, you see the grace in his eyes,
I don’t condemn you, go and sin no more,
I love and accept you, mercy is yours.
If you’re anything like me you’re like no it cant be, no I cant see,
Why would he die for me?
Then I saw the scene, where I was redeemed
He reached out and touched me, and said Jeff you’re free,
Instantly I was wearing the brightest robe id ever seen,
Perfectly spotless, perfectly clean!
So bright in fact, I thought id go blind,
I said who’s is this? He said “actually its mine”
So stop and think before you eat what society feeds us,
Come follow the King, his name is Jesus.
